Memorial Day
Let's see, what shall I remember about this time in my life ten years from now? I may remember turning down the opportunity to be an AuPair in Switzerland (because of which I have received insulting e-mails from my ex-prospective employer); I may remember who my favorite bands were (probably only because I have written them down on my blog); I may remember that I kept a blog (I doubt it will still exist. By then, something much more modern will have taken its place.); I probably won't remember anything about President Bush except that he kept us in a very unpopular war (but, in ten years, who knows what wars we will have fought (hopefully not the same one...)); but I will remember how much I love and appreciate my mother. She is truly my best friend and biggest fan, and no matter what other memories fade in the dusk of life, she will always be my sun.
We found this really cool biking/walking trail out at the "excess property" in Fort Smith. It runs from Lake Wells to the disc golf course at Ben Geren Park. I don't know how long it is, but it's hilly and scenic and wonderful! If you're ever in the Fort Smith area and jonesing for some physical activity, check it out.
Well, I have things to do and people to work for, but I hope this Memorial Day has been as memorable for you as it has been for me.

You should go if you still can. There's no such thing as a wrong choice, just different outcomes. Who knows where going or not going will lead you.
Sam, thank you for remembering your parents. I know that I remember my parents today as well. After a weekend of doing repairs of my fence and outside storage/shop building with them, i really do appreciate them. They really are my biggest fans as well and are always willing to lend a hand on various projects around here.
Thanks for continuing to be such an insightful friend and reminding me of things that God has blessed me with.
And hiya Sam's mom when you see this blog entry.
