I *heart* Harry
Monday was Scott Fendley's birthday, and, boy, did we have fun! Ariel (who's back from Washington now), Caroline, and I took Scott out to dinner at the Olive Garden. I had their new gnocchi dish, Caroline had their Chianti braised ribs, Scott had the some kind of ravioli with ribs, and Ariel had fettuccine. When we got in the car, we were so full that we made it about half a mile until we had to get out and walk around! We were conveniently located next to a Target, so we hoped on in and managed to pick up a very funny array of gifts for Scott:
mini gel pens
Sponge Bob notepad
travel size Listerine
travel size Q-Tips
travel size (okay, they're all travel size) hand, purifying gel
and a Nerf basketball hoop with ball! :)
My neighbors are really loud. I can't really tell if it's my neighbors to the south of me or above me, because the sound just seems to envelop me. For a while, they were having parties every night of the week. One night, it was someone's birthday and they sang Happy Birthday 3 times...and midnight. Most of the time, they just have really loud music playing. That's why I now have 2 small fans in my room, solely for the white noise.
Harry Potter was awesome!! So awesome!! I can't wait to read the book.
I found out the TJ and Jon are moving (back) to Fayetteville next month!!!!!!!!! Wowie!!!!!!
Ariel and I had a really nice time walking to Wilson Park tonight. I like her.
Oh, a funny thing happened at the Olive Garden on Monday. This blonde girl (who was not our waitress and who epitomized the "country bumpkin") came out with the food. Of course, she didn't know which plate went with which person, so she had to call out the name of the dishes. I got the gnocchi (which is pronounced "ng-o-key"); she asked who ordered the "knee-key". When I claimed the "NG-O-KEY", she tried to explain (in her very southern accent) why she didn't know how to pronounce it...it didn't work. So, she moved on to another dish: the fettuccine. Well, that was easy enough for her. (After all, anybody can buy a box of Pasta-roni fettuccine at Wal-Mart.) The two rib dishes really threw her off. Looking back, I'm not really sure why there was so much confusion, but finally, we made her see that Caroline had the braised ribs and Scott had the ravioli. She handed Caroline her plate of braised ribs, mushroom risotto, and green beans and says to herself "so 'braised' means 'rice'". Oh my gosh. OLIVE GARDEN, TRAIN YOUR STAFF!
That's all for tonight.
