I Walk Like A New Yorker
That's what Francis Phipps said to me yesterday as we walked to Starbucks. That pretty much sums up how I feel: at home. I love this city! I love the buildings and the lights and the people (some more than others) and the languages and the sounds and smells and the opportunities! There's so much to say already!
This brownstone where I'm staying was pretty dirty. It hasn't been taken care of in a long time, so I've spent the past two and a half days cleaning it. (I found a mouse this morning in the kitchen, though, so I'm not done yet!) Click here to see pics of the house.
As far as fun, I've been to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Sacred Chow, Magnolia Bakery, Times Square, Rockefeller Center (all with Andrew Carter), and the East River Park (by myself). Click here to see pics of all that.
Tomorrow, New Year's Eve, I plan on arriving at Times Square around 1pm to grab my piece of asphalt in front of the ball. I am going to wear my warmest clothes and stuff my pockets full of sandwiches and bananas! (There's no leaving once you get there.) I'll be thinking of all of you tomorrow night as we ring in the new year together (almost)!

Your place in NY looks so cute! I'm definitely coming to visit. Probably when it's warmer. I really like the red room. And Hello Kitty. =)
Have fun at Times Square!
I love the brownstone! And I'm glad you got to hang out with Andrew Carter - for a second, I thought you were referring to my brother :) Mmm, Sacred Chow...
Happy 2009, and enjoy exploring!
I love the pics you took of the moving traffic and of the water. they are cool and should be your possible hanger uppers in your home. Plus your home is very cool and Big City like. It is weird, b/c I have never seen anyones home that lives in the big city. I hope you are having fun.
