This was my favorite piece of Roman graphic design that I saw this summer. The way in which it looks "hand-crafted" makes it very appealing. It seems safe and fun and innocent but enticing. The use of font to mimic the sway of the ground was a clever way to add to the "kid-like" feeling of the poster. Plus, jazz is not an even, predictable type of music, but a type that leaps and soars. It's a sanserif font that is rounded on the edges to enhance the soft and safe feelings of the poster.
I suppose that all caps were used in order to eliminate the problem of uneven ascenders and descenders. That way, nothing would break the unity of the words and the pattern of undulation.
