Well, it happened. It wasn't too bad. It was actually pretty good in some ways. But I wished that I had a really nice portfolio to show...

Et-hmmm, you do have a really nice portfolio to show. Look, I know it's gut-wretching. I had to put mine together last week and I was just short of devestated. Absolutely hated it, so the bad news is, at least for you and me, that's normal. (Consider it stage fright.)
Pace your book. Keep it to 10 pieces or so and open with that elegant olive branch ad. And have a little faith.
